And so it begins...

Welcome to GlynisDaily.com.  I've thought long about this step, since traveling/moving cross country from Rochester, NY to the Oregon Coast nearly three (!) years ago.  I am a photographer, shooting commercial work for small businesses, posting to www.cannon-beach.net (shameless plug,) art photos for sale and the random wedding for friends.  I also teach photo basics with the Tolovana Arts Colony and assorted park/recreation agencies. My new website will be up any day now, resulting in another shameless plug.  I also work at the small market--the Surfcrest-- you see here today.  I meet and talk with people traveling from all over the world--this week Austria, British Colombia, Kansas, Michigan, NYC and Baltimore--as well as the "locals" who live here year round.

Though I will be shooting digital for this site, what I see is always what you get.  There is no re-coloring, no erasing, no switching heads on people.  I have a journalism degree and have always liked the truth of photography, the record of what is/was there--shadows, textures, color plays, objects.

Hello and welcome to all my supportive and encouraging friends from across the country:  Rochester, Cleveland, Columbus, Minneapolis, California and here on the Oregon coast.  Enjoy...

Every summer Saturday there is a wine tasting at the Surfcrest, and today Kate from Hip Chicks Do Wine in Portland brought their latest releases to sample.  The feet are Gracie's, as you can see, another hip chick.

    Hi Glynis,

Thanks for the heads up on your site. Good to see some of your work on the web. Are you going to post any of your art work here? It would be great for a (shameless plug) of your fantastic talent.
