End-of-Summer "Blues"

In reviewing my photos from this morning (more on www.cannon-beach.net,) I noticed that many had one thing in common: something blue. It's the end of another (seemingly) short summer, with friends leaving til next year, cooler, wetter weather coming and the familiar sense that I didn't even come close to completing my summer "to do" list. Could my attraction to blue today be a subconscious nod to the last summer Sunday, the end of the festive flurry of social outings, the on-set of a more somber, back-to-the-books mood and readying for the isolated, stormy days ahead?
