All That Dixieland Jazz
Saturday, March 03, 07
Woooo--eeee. It's been a long couple of weeks. Lots of work, lots of rain, trying to learn about and integrate a new camera into my life, leading to the unexpected additional purchase of a new computer and getting it (and me) up to speed, and pet sitting to boot. Thank you to George Vetter for getting me up and online with new images on the new system finally this afternoon. I'll be back to posting more regularly--I've really missed it.
I spent LAST weekend at the annual Oregon Dixieland Jubilee. The music was fabulous; the clothes were sparkly; the dancing was non-stop, including a parasol parade to "When the Saints Go Marching In" at the Sunday gospel service. Around 2000 attendees tapped their toes at three Seaside venues and visited with friends from other jazz festivals. Many have followed the festivals and/or the bands for years, including a group of Seattle 20-somethings (in blurs below--i.e. first & second photos) who can really cut a rug. The band in the first photo is Titan Hot 7, and the snazzy shoes are from the Glass Slipper. I hope you enjoy this longer set.

Hi Glynis,
I'm so glad your back on. I was beginning to wonder about you. Looks like your weekend was a lot of fun! Great photos. I was also glad to see your pictures on the Cannon Beach web site. I have missed those also. Thanks for sharing.
