CB Sandcastle Day
Saturday, June 16, 07
Sandcastle Day, and, sure enough, darkening skies let loose right in the middle of the morning's event. However, there was still a lot of color, if not from the umbrellas, from some of the contestents. One took a leisurely bath while an annual crowd-favorite group from Seattle (this year wearing jester hats) sang and built the "Royal Flush" (see www.cannon-beach.net for it and three other entries)
My personal favorite sculpture this year was "Public Anenome." Disney Radio was here providing music and games for fans of "The Cheetah Girls" and "Hannah Montana." Even the Egg was dancing in the rain--and you can't build sculptures with dry sand anyway.
