A Purple Week

Sunday, August 12, 2007

Another week flown.  I seem to be busier and busier, and, though during the past seven days I have been photographing, I haven't posted.  I am pet and house sitting for two different gardener friends.  Tis the season for flowers, but my shots, on review, seemed to be overwhelmingly purple in content.  It wasn't a conscious choice, really, but I have been using it more lately--markers and pens, clothes, etc.  Is there a reason, or are my tastes simply changing?

I did a computer search for "purple meaning" which led me to crystal-cure.com.  According to this gem and crystal website, purple/violet is a color of those seeking "spiritual fulfillment"--I have recently jump-started my yoga and meditation routine.  One of my current projects is moving my office out of my home and into an actual office "space," removing the clutter of computers and file boxes and photos and books to a place devoted to and focused on my work.  In Rochester, my home was my sanctuary, and I am trying to restore that feeling of quiet and respite in a space less than half the size.  Reading that one should use purple when trying to "re-balance" one's life and "remove obstacles" now comes as no surprise.

Because of the balance of blue and red energy, the description says that purple is considered the "ideal color."  I should say so.

People rarely reveal themselves. Glynis through her photographs and writing reveals herself. I am grateful. Her photographs remind me of Weston and Adams in color. The pictures today again speak to the spirit, the soul. Thank you.
