Silver Point Creatures

Sunday, August 26, 2007

Can it really be August 26th?  Can I have missed the summer--again?

Today's photos are not really today's--I took them at some point last week, I think.  I'm darting from place to place, not staying long enough in one spot to settle in and juggling many "projects," all, it seems with "High Priority" scrawled across them, all requiring time and concentration and focus.

Here is where time stops for me:  Silver Point.  The tides come and go;  the creatures sprawl in the sun or cling to wave drenched rocks;  birds brace themselves against eagles and rain and cruise the sunny breezes.   It's always the same and, barring some catastrophic event, living in the "now" will go on indefinitely here.

I'll take a walk tonight to calm my brain and prepare for the coming week's frenzy by picturing these creatures without computers, without phones or cars, without the anxiety of time--or, for that matter, of thought.
