Been Here Before

Today it was raining and blowing. And--here's a shocker--another storm is on the way. On the Weather Channel our 7-day outlook says, "Rain & Wind, Rain & Wind, Showers, Rain, Rain, Showers, Rain." Today was the first of three storms bringing us "High Surf" and "High Wind" warnings. It's January. Everyone is buying peanut butter and gasoline for the inevitable power outage this weekend.
Oregon Coast towns are used to battering winds, pummelling surf and flickering lights this time of year. Last month's hurricane was the exception because of the length of the storm and high sustained winds (three days.) I'm hoping that the power stays on long enough to bake my bread in the morning and slow cook the chicken I'd planned to have for dinner tomorrow night.
A break in the downpours this afternoon gave me hope for a beach walk. However, walking and even standing up against the heavy gusts sort of squelched that idea. I did manage to fire off a few frames as the sun broke through impending clouds, and it looks a bit similar to that of my last entry. I do love storm clouds.
Just after I got back home, the sky turned a greenish/yellow color, and I thought, "When clouds turn that color in Ohio, it means tornado." The hail in the photo arrived a few minutes later with a low rumble of thunder. There is another lull now. Hmmm. Maybe I should start that chicken...
