Winter Light II

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Another amazing day--clear skies, a leeetle warmer than yesterday.  I spent as much time outside as possible because the weather is supposed to turn tomorrow.  Many times I don't get to see the sunset in spite of being in a seaside town, but tonight I wandered down to the beach.  I'm so glad I did.

Photography is about light, shadows and texture, and this light was gorgeous--an unusual winter orange, crisp, yet flowing over everything.  I was really taken with the cool, winter greys and charcoals first bathed in, then, as the sun dropped, just faintly highlighted with the warm orange. . .
