Thanks--I Needed This...

Thursday, May 15, 2008

Aaahhhhh, the beach.  Today's temps were summer temps, and the sky was clear blue.  We have had winter since October.  Finally the weather is turning.

I've been working hard, but isn't it funny how when you're doing something you love (as cliched as it sounds) time flies?  I've needed some quiet time, and tonight I took a book, a chair and a glass of wine down to the beach.  I also took my camera, and it felt good to shoot a bit on the beach again.  There were even rainbows in the clouds.

There is a lot going on.  The shop is doing well, and I think it will only get busier.  Sunday we've been invited to participate in "Chef's Night Out," a very popular fundraiser for Cannon Beach Children's Center.  Tuesday, we're setting up a hole for the 2nd Annual Cannon Beach Puttz event, another benefit, for Tolovana Arts Colony.  (photos, of course, will be forthcoming)

People are beginning to arrive in town, and there is more traffic and activity.  Tonight, I looked up from my book to see that I was the only person on the beach.  Me---and the sandpipers scurrying along the surf's edge and the group of cormorants watching the sandpipers and the sunset.  I breathed the air, listened to the crashing waves, relished the quiet time by myself.

Thank You, Universe/God/Spirit, for this perfect air, this perfect ocean, this perfect evening.  Again.
