Sandcastle Day in Cannon Beach
Sunday, June 8, 2008
Thankfully, the rain stopped. All weekend, in fact. Most importantly for yesterday's Sandcastle event on the beach. I opened the shop a bit late, so I could photograph some of the entries for CB-net. I couldn't stay until the judging at noon, but the projects were well under way--the Lions Club's "Lion in the Sun" utilized seaweed for the mane; Team Kristie's Dorks included a forest and "funky town" in their space; always entertaining, the Windbreakers from Seattle built "Frank & Stein" as the creature holding a hot dog in one hand and a beer mug in the other.
It's all in fun and gone with the tides, but these are some serious sandcastles.
