Colores en la Lluvia

("colors in the rain")  I believe I've mentioned that it rains here.  In fact I hear the wind still gusting to around 40 mph as I type. Today I went with friends Kristin and Mark on a couple of "farm visits" for the Cannon Beach Farmers Market.  Kristin is the Market Director.   We began at Linda Brand Crab on Washington's Long Beach Penninsula.   This small family company has a reputation for some of the best quality dungeness crab and other seafood (black cod--yummm) on the north coast.  They sell from their small, home-based facility and at farmers markets around Portland.  They're very excited to be coming to the CB market.  The weather became wetter.

Our next stop was at the Rio Cafe in Astoria.  This will be the Rio's first foray into the market scene, and their homemade hot sauces will be a big hit.  We also had un almuerzo delicioso (delicious lunch--gracias Kristin and Mark) of Enchiladas con Quesos, guacamole, arroz y frijoles.  As the storm and fog blew in, you'll see why this was such a lugar brillante (bright spot.)  Comfort food, south of the border colors and owner Julie's sunny disposition turned a dismal day into muy bien.

(the next photo was taken there another day, but I still like the colors...)
