11th Street Colors

I did not go to the CB July 4th Parade, so I'm sorry about missing the photos. I had intended to go, but I wasn't up to it on Saturday. Much better now.
I should have glynisart.com back up soon--new and improved. Speaking of new, I am working on the new biz, which has taken about three months longer than expected. It's okay now, though. I'm finally getting excited about beginning this new stage. I'll be putting together a new website for it and have signed up for a Twitter account (you can follow "wildvinescb.")
That's why I was in Astoria today. I purchased a piece of furniture for the new place and needed to get a contact for another piece. While I was there, I noticed a lot of color--probably sunlight enhanced--and thought I would take a few street shots. I think I had color on the brain, too, because the tech guy from GoDaddy (Tom), who was helping me with the new website this morning, sent me a photo from his recent Italy vacation when he saw the photos on this blog. It was a cool shot of buildings layered on an Italian hillside along the Mediterranean. Oranges, yellows, pinks, wrought iron balconies---the scene made me think of 60's movies with Gina Lolabrigida or Sophia Loren or Cary Grant or Sean Connery, big sunglasses, big hats, intrigue, yachts. But I digress. There is little of that in Astoria, but the Columbian Cafe IS located in the Riviera Building. . .
